Product Overview
The Product Overview is a focused view of a single product — its revenue, cost, profit and margin, with a month-by-month breakdown.
Where to find it
Open any product's detail page in your Stripe Dashboard. ProTally appears there with the title "Product Overview", showing the numbers for that specific product.
Choosing a period
A Period selector lets you view Last 3 months (default), Last 6 months or Last 12 months. Everything on the page updates to the chosen period.
The summary cards
Four cards give you the product's performance at a glance for the selected period:
- Revenue — total revenue from completed payments for this product.
- Cost — the cost of goods, based on the cost you've configured for the product's prices.
- Profit — revenue minus cost (and Stripe fees).
- Margin — profit as a percentage of revenue.
If fee proration is turned on, a Stripe Fees card appears between Cost and Profit, showing the processing fees attributed to this product for the period.
The trend chart
The line chart plots the product's revenue, cost and profit over the period, so you can see how each moves over time. A widening gap between revenue and profit points to rising costs or fees.
Monthly breakdown
Beneath the chart, a table breaks the period down month by month:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Month | The calendar month. |
| Revenue | Revenue recognised that month. |
| Cost | Cost of goods for that month. |
| Profit | Revenue minus cost for that month. |
This makes it easy to spot seasonality, the impact of a price or cost change, or a one-off spike.
No data for this period?
If the product has no completed payments in the selected period you'll see a "No data for this period" message. Try a longer period, or run a data sync to import historical payments.
