Installation
Install ProTally directly from the Stripe App Marketplace — no code, no API keys, no separate account to create.
Install from the Stripe App Marketplace
- Open the ProTally listing on the Stripe App Marketplace.
- Click Install app. Stripe will ask you to confirm the permissions ProTally needs (see below) and choose which account to install on.
- Confirm the install. ProTally is added to your Stripe Dashboard and opens automatically.
That's it — there is no separate sign-up. ProTally identifies you securely through Stripe, so the first time you open it your account is created and provisioned for you in the background.
Sandbox and test mode
ProTally is compatible with Stripe sandboxes, so you can install and explore it against test data before rolling it out to your live account.
Permissions ProTally requests
During install, Stripe shows the permissions ProTally needs to do its job. Each one maps to a specific feature:
- Read products & prices — to list your products and let you configure costs against each price.
- Read subscriptions & plans — to read recurring pricing for profit calculations.
- Read your email — to associate your ProTally account with you.
- Read events — to keep your data up to date as payments happen.
- Read payments, checkout sessions & invoices — to sync completed payments and calculate revenue and profit.
- Store secrets — to keep you securely signed in between page loads.
ProTally only ever reads your Stripe data. It never creates, modifies or deletes anything in your Stripe account.
Where ProTally appears
After installing, you'll find ProTally in four places in your Stripe Dashboard:
