Introduction
Getting started
ProTally turns your Stripe data into real-time profit, margin and cost insight — right inside your Stripe Dashboard.
Once installed, ProTally appears in four places in your Stripe Dashboard, each answering a different question about your business:
- Account Overview — how much profit is my whole business making?
- Products Overview — which of my products are healthy, and which need attention?
- Product Overview — how is this specific product performing over time?
- Settings — where you configure costs, sync history, manage billing and find help.
ProTally calculates net profit by taking your Stripe revenue, removing Stripe's own fees, and deducting the cost of goods you configure for each product. Everything updates automatically as new payments complete.

A quick tour
ProTally is built entirely on top of Stripe. It reads your products, prices and completed payments, and layers profit analysis on top — no spreadsheets, no exports, no separate login.
The headline metric is net profit: revenue earned, less Stripe processing fees, less the direct cost of goods you record against each product. From there ProTally derives margins, ranks your products by health, and charts trends over the last 3, 6 or 12 months.
To make those numbers meaningful, ProTally needs two things from you: your historical payment data (a one-click sync) and your product costs (configured per Stripe price). Both are covered in the guides above.
